Did you bother noticing whether or not any of the winning combinations had numbers that were all under 31? No winning tickets simply means that nobody played th enumbers that won, not that there's anything noteworthy about the winning numbers.

The reason most winners are QP's are for two reasons. Reason 1, most people are not strategy lotto players, they play birthdates, anniversaries, special dates etc. Reason 2, using a system to play multi state lotteries is a waste of time, because of the odds, due to the large main number field and the second power number field. I was curious about this myself.

Since there are 5,267,241 combinations for number 31 and under, then for Powerball this means that one should occur roughly 3% of the time.

I came up with 3 Powerball drawings in the past year with numbers 30 or less. Listed below are date, white balls, powerball, jackpot, and winning state(s).

No surprises. There are only 5,267,241 MM/PB combinations under and including the number 31.

That leaves 170+ million combinations.

Considering the size of the matrix no jackpot set of numbers all under 31 isn't really shocking.

A lot of the lotto gurus though warn about playing all your numbers 31 and under because so many people play birthdays and anniversaries that if such a set ever wins it will be split a lot of ways.

While searching the past MM/PB results, I've noticed, there hasn't been a jackpot winning ticket where ALL the numbers were under 31. I play birthday's so the highest number I play is 30. I do realize most winners are qp, maybe I'll buy an extra qp ticket. Unlike some of you, I'm playing MM/PB for 4/6 or 5/6.. better odds and I always play the extra dollar. I've hit 3/6 several times
