I doubt there will ever be a billion dollar jackpot because it will still be too easy for some to win.

They are trying to make as much money for themselves as they possibly can.

That's job one.

That being said, a jackpot that is all but impossible to win, such as it is, could create an environment conducive to the realization of a billion dollar jackpot.

With the odds at winning the MM 2nd tier prize at 18.5 million to 1, you would have better luck with most state lotteries. As a comparison, the odds on PB 2nd tier prize is 5.1 million to 1.

I think they are just trying to compete.

Sales fell after PB took a chance.

So now they will take a chance.

The new MegaBall structure will be very alluring for some people.

You can do the three same wheels with three differnt sets of Bonus ball numbers.

That might be very enticing for wealthier players.

All Keno is not equal.

I agree MM is definitely trying to hit a billion dollar annuity jackpot. To create a true billionaire, the annuity prize would have to exceed over $3 billion.

I don't know if their game plan was to see the jackpot hit $1,000,000,000 (I'm hoping it does), but I do know that when the Mega Millions jackpot was 640 million their ticket sales were insane. People were still lined up trying to buy tickets when the terminals closed just before the draw.

Highest Jackpot ever was mega millions at 640 million with this new structure and higher jackpot rollovers i think they are wanting to create billionares
