Why did it dissolve? That's like playing solo for a little while then give up because you haven't won. In mine, we rollover the winnings to next months dues. I normally need $18 from every player for the month, but there have been a few months we only had to fork over a few dollars from each person because the winnings covered the rest. There have been pools that play a few years and win, and then there are some that play several, and then of course some that never win.

Hi,

I ran a pool of 10 people for about 6 months in Lotto 6/49 in Canada.

I set up rules of participation and made them all sign them, then collected

$32 to $36 per head every month. We played 40 tickets per draw 8 to 9

times a month. I made the playing very transparent providing everybody

with a copy of all tickets. For about 4 month we were in black (won more

than spent) but then our luck turned and after 2 month of losses the pool

I run 3 pools, State Lotto, Mega Money, and powerball. The 2 state ones is monthly, and the powerball is only when jackpot is over $100 mill. Occasionally I will be 1 or two for myself.

I play solo almost always. I used to join groups at work when the payouts would reach high levels but that still never amounted to anything. For a while there was a group that would play every draw as a pool but the collections alternated from person to person and that died out pretty quickly as people would forget or just not want to make the rounds. If I do any sharing of funds now it's with my Mother who likes to chip in a few dollars when the pot is high.

I do both. I play my own and sometimes I'll get a small pool going with coworkers. Even when I'm pooling with coworkers, I'll still get my own tickets for that night, haha.

Before I retired I participated in a couple of pools at work that came within one number of winning the state lottery three times. Now I only play alone and prefer it that way, I spend as little or as much as I want any time I want on any game I want.

no one kows how money will change a person, or themselves. i think pooling with close family is a pretty safe bet. they are prob the best you will ever know people. also lsten to your gut, as mike points out , the pool he was in he didnt even get to see the tickets! not a situation to be in. he felt unese and got out. ive ran pools for years, but have had people join i felt unsure about. and let go.

I was in one once, w/ some people at work. I never got to see the tickets and after the second time, I asked to see them after the drawing and was told they had been discarded. I don't think any of the numbers were winners, but I didn't like the way it was done.

My pop used to do it w/ his afternoon domino/moon-playing buddies; they drafted an agreement, stipulating how much money ea. would put into the pool, signed it and had it notorized, then ea. signed the tickets after purchasing them... [ More ]

Solo.

Every form of gambling should be a solo endeavor.

Odds are you are going to lose, but if you get lucky and everyone else loses you'll be expected to bail them out.

Lotto might be a little different in the approach, but look just on LP alone about all the hassles over pools.

I play alone but I would most definitely join a work pool when invited, even with full knowledge of all the headache stories we have seen over the years at LP. Mostly go the solo route, however, sometimes my shop steward will run a pool when PB gets high enough, it's not there yet.

Hello everyone.

Not made a thread in a while so thought I would make one haha.

So, when you play are you part of a pool or do you play on your own dime.

Me personally, I now only buy 1 or 2 lines if I decide to play the Euro or sometimes I pool money with close family members but that's mostly it.

So how about you guys
