Around Christmas many states offer raffle tickets. I'll be in Philly for thanksgiving and will get their millionaire raffle tickets. 4 top prizes of $1M. I'd be crazy to not try to get some of that.

I will buy a $20 raffle ticket in a heartbeat but will not buy a $20 scratch off. I once in a long while will try two $10 ones and then regret it for weeks after the usual results I get from scratch offs.

all i buy is $10-$30 scratchers ($30 is the highest in Illinois). i just dont have any luck on anything smaller. i do play the $5 Good Life tickets occasionally but again, no luck.

i keep records of all my tickets and without going into too much detail, here are my winning percentages of the different denominations this year to date;

$30 tickets 96%

$20 tickets 85%

$10 tickets 59%

$5 tickets 48

Maybe next payday I might get the balls and play a $20 scratcher. I'll be nervous too, lol. I've looked at what we have here in Florida, the odds, and whats left for top prizes and I think I'm ready for it. After that I will leave it to the big boys here, lol. Funny though I have seen several older people, turn in tickets, buy more tickets, and still walk away with money, before they even scratch the tickets

yes, I do have the guts to play a twenty dollar scatch- off . It is a brand New game pay- off all at one time. If I like the game enough I will wait to be the first in line. To buy the entire packet of [50]. I'll let them broken them open and scan them and purchase the whole stack. I'll never purchase another one.

I was nervous the whole time while buying it . then I was walking out of the store and noticed that the $1,000,000 top prize is paid out in 30 annual payments. it says it in small print so you can't see it before you buy it.... so now I'm pissed off. after taxes that's like $8 a year. so I scratched it and won my 20 bucks back.

I'm done with those.... unimpressed to say the least

The $20 scratchers are not going away, in fact, some states are upping the ante with $50 and $100 scratchers. Their prize sets are so attractive and their high price lends a false sense of exclusivity to their players.

I once found a two $20 losers someone discarded in the parking lot at work. One turned out to be a $25 winner. I sometimes buy $10 scratchers if I win enough from my other tickets.

Heck yeah...I'd rather play those than the $1 scratchers...hey if your gonna play...play to win...and the high prizes along with the odds are usually the best around...We've got one now here in N.C. that you can win 3 million dollars as the top prize...there are 3 left to be won on that one and I think 6 1 million as the 2nd tier prize

The $20 scratcher is for the casual player. If you have $20 to spare, go ahead, take the chance and you have good odds of losing, getting your money back, winning a little more and a small shot at the jackpot.

I have bought 20 dollar scratch tickets but not often. Right now I have a 20 dollar scratcher sitting at home that I bought a month ago and haven't scratched it yet. Over the last 7 months I've been buying far less scratch tickets and when I do buy a 20 dollar one I tend to hold onto it for awhile before scratching it. According to my math there is about a 86-87% chance at least one of the top prizes have been sold. So it could have been sold just not claimed yet.

I rarely buy scratchers but I have had my eye on the $7500000 Fortune, which is a $50 tic. That game has been out for almost a year, there are 3 top prizes of $7500000, and none of them have been claimed yet. That makes me wonder if they even distributed them yet. Because of that I'm hesitant to buy one.

My favorite are $50 scratchers. With $20 scratchers I have to buy a few before a win, $50s I hit on the first ticket no fail. I would never buy a whole roll of 20s or 50s though, because usually they have some of the worst guaranteed payouts.

Even though it's scary buying higher priced scratchers, the better odds definitely help keep the drawdown low.

I have had more success on the 20 dollar scratch out than any other.. I won 500 twice and 100 4 times... Plus majority of the time I get back my 20 by winning a 20 ... I rather save up to by two 20 dollar scratch out than slowly draining out my money on the small ones.. I rarely have success on 1-10 dollar scratch outs...

I'm a $5 or less per scratch off ticket kinda person. I've gotten 2 $10 tickets one time and cringed when I bought them and won nothing. Now after looking on the state lottery site and seeing how many grand prizes remain on a $1 ticket, the odds of winning, I have a few times bought 10 $1 scratchers and sometimes break even or just below or just over what I spent.
