Winning a huge amount like that you'd almost have to move on. People get funny with big money around, and I don't mean the winners necessarily. People would hound you, pester you, beggars, etc.. You have to use caution.

I think if it's over 10 million and you're working for someone else, the right thing to do is to give up your job for someone else. I don't think it would go over too well with so many people looking for work and someone hitting an 8 figure jackpot to keep working for someone...Can't imagine going to work everyday listening to coworkers talking about how their brother, sister or neighbor can't find a job.

I would likely instantly quit my j.o.b. Then I would take a little time to decide for sure what/how I want to invest. Likely Real Estate and I would probably start a brokerage and property managment company to buy and manage it all. I would hire and employ my current friends/co-workers at generous salary's and perks, time off, etc. as long as the company was turning a healthy profit. Depends on how much the jackpot was...if it was like the guy in my state that won 3 mil no I'd keep my job, beef up my retirement, and pay off the house. If it was over I'd say 20 mil after tax of course I'd definately put in my 2 weeks

For me, instant retirement and never looking back. 8 million would do for me. House about 2 million, 3 cars = 140,000 and divide the rest over 40 years.

lol I actually had something similiar to this happen to me because I'm usually reserved. A few years ago I was heading a big project, it was a major deal, and on the first day everyone was like who's the boss, and somebody pointed to me and said him. Never seen so much surprise in my life

If I won I would definitely start my own companies. I'm a little young to retire but it wouldn't be all work and no play

i would open my own shop to restore my old cars pay myself an hourly rate and have employees and let them think i'm just a tech there and they would be building all my cars...lol, and they only know the owner as the guy on the speaker phone,

I would actually like to keep my job. I enjoy my work and I like the company of most of my coworkers. I also think that'd I'd be less likely to blow my winnings if I'm holding down a nine to five. It's more difficult to spend money when you're occupied all day long.

Realistically I'd probably have to quit. I know that certain people would always be asking me for handouts. They'd probably give me hell for wasting my time when I have millions. Also, since I work at a customer service job... [ More ]

Or would you continue to work at what you doing because you love the folk you mingle with, you have own your little niche and would hate to give all that up simply because you have now become a multimillionaire?

Or do you clear out your desk at some given point so to speak and thank those around you, perhaps even throwing your very own farewell Party ?

Either option should not be criticized in my opinion, but what would be your immediate or follow through steps?
