1. Rushed to lottery HQs next day to claim winnings without any lawyer

2. Did nothing to claim it anonymously.

3. States to the media: I'm gonna share my winnings with family and friends . The vultures will finish him.

It won't last.

Anybody ever get th idea that sometimes the Lottery Fairy lets some people win jackpots who she knows won't be able to handle it and does it to entertain herself?

All posts so far are spot on.

I think the biggest indicator is starting off telling what you will buy or spend lottery winnings on first. The first thing out lottery winners mouth sets the path he/she will follow, often to great detriment.

Not having a plan in place to make your money last the rest of your lifetime. I remember watching The Lottery Changed My Life when David Lee Edwards was on it. My wife and I commented on how we did not think his money would last. Then hearing an update on him. It was sad. I always hope that someone that has had some troubles in their life can turn it around when given that golden opportunity.
