Folks, I know those who do not live in California, Florida, New York or New Jersey always want to think the lottery is rigged whenever multiple winners hail from those places in a given year. However, it is all about numbers. If you look at the number of tickets sold per state and territory, you will note that those lead the pack in ticket sales.

I have a great idea for a new MUSL game that would only include NY, GA, FL, and CA. Kick them all out of PB MM. The game would be a 5+1 computerized draw with numbers between 1 and 999,999,999,999 for white balls and between 1 and 999,999 for a bonus ball. Start the jackpot out at $500,000,000 and make it a $1 play.

Now before anyone chimes in and says this would be impossible to win, I guarantee you that CA would win at least 2 jackpot drawings within the first 6 months of this game.

Cali already has its own state lottery, SuperLotto Plus. It does about $3M in sales each draw, and current JP is $27M.

But Cali players want more. They want it all.

California will win its share of jackpots every year but I think it would be a stretch to say it will win all the time. Even california has times in powerball and mega millions were they can not even create a 5+0 winner for draws. So just because cali has two big jackpots in the last year does not mean they will win all the time or even six in a row.-weshar75

Another point well taken JonD. Perhaps people feel it carries more weight when the State is pushed to the fore as opposed to an individual from said State.

Apparently not, as evidenced by all the people complaining all the time about, Why does [Florida/Jersey/California] always win? It's not fair!

People are so fixated on the state when someone wins the PB/MM JP, instead of the actual people that won like Gloria or Pedro or Steve.

I assume that's the impetus for this week's NG weekend topic? And that was also the basis for my sarcastical commentary on the matter.

Truth be told shelby- l usually buy a few tickets at that gas station from time to time on my way to Silicon Valley, but not for the past month or so...but, had l hit it, l would have still dropped in to say Hi .

The world is full of conspiracy theorists, from the black helicopters - to America never went to the Moon- to there are Alien bodies squirrelled away at Area 51..
