I heard back from the VA Lottery today.

Win For Life is in fact continuing as a Virginia-only game, with the first Virginia-only drawing taking place on Wednesday, Feb. 26.

There are no changes being made to the game itself, but the Virginia Lottery is adding a $1 million lump-sum cash payout option for jackpot winners. (Or they can take the $1,000 per week for life payout, as before.)

Virginia has had 44 lifetime winners in Win for Life since the first drawing on March 1, 2006.

I kinda miss that game in Ky. , as I used to play it now and then

Never have cared much for the Decades Of Dollars that they went to back then

Correction. I had the extra ball as well so I think I won $30 x 5 for $150. This is the most I ever won. I had 1-11-14-16-26-33. I may have to post a pic of this ticket.

PS: They also changed the number of winning tickets you can have for the JP. It used to be up to 5, now it is 2 max. for a max prize of 2 million if you take the lump sum vs the annuity. This is new info.

The last Win For Life drawing Kentucky participated in was on Jan. 29, 2011. They dropped out when Decades for Dollars started. First drawing of Decades for Dollars was Feb. 3, 2011.

I love this game and got 3 of 6 again on 5 tickets! This is the only game I ever buy multiple tickets for now (2-5 tickets)since I gave up MM and don't play Decades of dollars all the time. I did not know Kentucky gave up the game.

If my memory serves me correct

I am thinking when this game first came out , Kentucky was in on it also

Kentucky Georgia Virginia

In fact , the first winner in the game was in Mt. Sterling ( or Morehead , Ky. ) I cant remember which city it was of the two ( but I am thinking maybe it was Mt. Sterling , Ky. )

Virginia is going to keep selling it.

Per their retailer newsletter, Beginning Sunday, February 23, Win for Life will be sold only in Virginia.

Thanks for the link. The GA Lottery (or the VA Lottery, for that matter) has not issued a press release about it. I wish they would be less secretive about these things.

The VA Lottery does not have any information on their site about this, at least that I can find. So maybe it will become a VA-only game? Or maybe they are canceling the entire game -- they don't say.
