I run a lottery pool in my office and I give copies of the tickets to everyone in the pool so there's no question if the winner is our ticket or not. I also buy my own tickets and I don't want to risk a mix up in case my ticket wins.

On the last big PB, the guy running our pool emailed us pics of the tickets then flew to LA. Joking he said we might not see him if we win. I told him no problem, i'll just kidnap your mom.

You'd be shocked at the number of pools that don't provide copies of the tickets, to their members, prior to the drawing. They usually say, We trust each other , and some are just too afraid to ask. I once asked for a copy prior to the draw and the girl asked me, Don't you trust me? . I answered, I trust you, but I TRUST THE COPY a lot better . You snooze, you lose!!!.

This movie has been made before and the script is always the same.

Notify the lottery commission that the winning ticket was purchased for a pool of players and be prepared to follow up with documentation. If the documentation is solid then the right parties will received their just rewards.

If one is playing in a pool the possibility of this happening should always be a considered and prepared for.

First thing is let the lottery office know that the winning ticket was part of a pool with documentation like copies of tickets, and that the ring leader has gone missing. They'll immediately put a hold while they investigate further. Second, get an attorney. He/she won't be able to access the money without addressing it with the lottery office and attorney; the matter may even end up in litigation.
