Totally agree... it's hard for us public sector types to be fully imaginative without the foil hat or Mulder and Scully cluing us in to the full goings on at sector 6, but all that aside, considering the caliber of people who have won huge jackpots, even if there was a screening process, it's obviously not very effective.

I don't think any jackpot winner would be a threat to society. Perhaps a welcome guest in just about any business establishment would be more just.

What do you mean by potential threat to society ? Someone walking down the streets in a hooded sweat shirt, or play loud music or don't share you religous belief? If certain people shouldn't play the lotteries then it should state so in the rules because retailers sell tickets to anyone who can afford them.

I know that the Lottery commisions do some screening on new jackpot winners, but how through is it?

Maybe I am being paranoid, but do they actually filter out any jackpot winner that can be a 'potential threat to the society'?

I don't think anybody really thought of that perspective.
