I've read several responses of players buying whole rolls of scrath-off tickets but they never inspired me to try the same. I probably will try buying fifteen MM lines with all the mega balls again when the jackpot exceeds $300 again but I will have more history to guide me.

You were right, it didn't roll but I doubt if Steve Player was either of the winners since neither were from NH as none of the million dollar winners were either.

If Steve did buy 10,000 lines, he couldn't realistically expect to win more than $1,100 unless his strategy involved more than just buying a lot of tickets or he got lucky. Even if he spent an extra $10,000 for the megaplier it would only be $3,300.

I think the point is to match 5 out of 75 balls,

and 1 out of 15 balls.

I for one hope it gets hit soon, because I dont like feeling obligated to play, just because the pot is ginormous.

I broke down and played three lines. I ran some lines that I had played on Dec 20.

As it shows in your chart and my ealier chart with calculations, with only one line the odds of matching 0+1 are 1:21 but with 15 lines the odds are improved to 1:1.

It's because the odds of matching only 0+1 are actually a little harder than 1 in 15, since there is the possibility of matching other numbers too.

If you purchase all 15 Megaballs then of course you're chances of matching at least 0+1 are 100%. But you could also have 1+1, etc.

No I didn't since the program I used to pick my combinations only used numbers that had come up before. It was written that way so I didn't have to change anything when I played different games since it used the numbers in the history file to decide which numbers were in the number pool.

I've since changed it so all the numbers including 61 and 68 may appear in the combinations it picks for tonight's drawing if they fall within the parameters of the combinations I'm looking for.... [ More ]

That was a good move to try all 15 MM lines using all 15 bonus numbers. I've often thought of doing it but haven't done it because I always play the exta dollar and do the multiplier so it would cost me 30 dollars if I bought 15 tickets. When you bought the 15 tickets did you use all of the 75 numbers

I checked Lotto Texas and it's a little harder to win being a 6/54 game instead of a 6/48 game. If I couldn't play it any better than I've play our 6/49 game I wouldn't see any advatage to spending the extra dollar.

I got mixed up and mistook Classic's $2 prize for a 2/6 (my lotto pays $2 for 2/6).

Even if it was right, half a percent difference wouldn't be enough to squawk about.

You must know something that I don't because I've never seen a 19 lines wheel that guarantees a 3of6 match in a 6/49 game regardless of the winning combination which pays $2 in Ohio.

Every lottery game I play I'm hoping to win the jackpot however when I play OCL I usually win nothing.

Playing MM twice, you spent $30 and got back $3. So 3/30 = 10%

Playing Ohio Classic twice, you would've spent $38 and got back at least $4, using that 19-ticket wheel BobP posted awhile back. So 4/38 10.5%

MM has more prizes though, so it's a wash. If I was shooting for jackpot I would play Classic, if shooting for lower prizes I would play MM.

I'm pleased with those results. To get a similar result playing the local Classic Lotto(6/49) with a jackpot of $62.6M/$31.3 cash I would have had to play all forty-nine numbers in a 163 lines wheel. I'll probably try the samething next Tuesday.

With only 39 drawings under the new 5/75+1/15 format, it's too early for me to start looking which number follows which. I have done that with Ohio's Classic Lotto to get a sense of the direction and range of the next numbers but it has a history of 1115 drawings. Good luck to you too.

There is no reason to think the same megaball won't repeat the next drawing or skip a drawing before repeating since it has happened twice with the 5/75 +1/15 format since it started 39 drawings ago.
