If you are employable you can quit your current job and move to another state and find another job. Take home of $77,000 can cushion you for about 2 years if you don't have a family.

I know several people who had a decent pension, some savings and a 401K who quit their jobs and retired in their late fifties without winning anything so 77K might be more than enough if they had plans.

Do you mean quit a job you hate and take the time to get another job you'd love or quit working period.

I don't know anyone who could stretch $77,000 into a lifetime amount no matter how frugal they are and even if they have no mortgage.

But it would be enough to quit a job you don't like and give you a little leeway to find one you could love, maybe take some courses to give you better earning potential. Can't see it doing much more than that.

It depends. If someone truly hates their work and is looking for a change, then this opportunity would work out well for them. They have some money while they look for another job.

I am a stay at home mom so no I will not be quitting my job . I would put 10% into a slush/vacation fund and the rest would go towards paying down our mortgage, fulfilling our Dave Ramsey plan which is to put aside 9 months of living expenses and ultimately be completely debt free.
