I think it is not in concerning about calculation; it is merely a showing that all the numbers are included into 0-cannot out be out of this scope. You can see like this, count back from +1 to -7 - (there are 4positions (so you get 4)in negative side:

-0,-1,-2,-3,-4,-5-6,-7,-8,-9-0+1,+2,+3,+4,+5,+6,+7,+8,+9.

0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9....(0 to 9 running within this scope.)

0 is the centre, left is negative (-), right is the positive (+).

You count from +1 b... [ More ]

and then there is, it doesn't matter or purpose to say that 7 is negative opposite of 4.... so can any other number be opposite of ...

I love your construct. But it seems to go only left. from 4 to 8 left there are 7 spaces when we include the numbers themselves. ANd you chose the question marks as 4 spaces from either left or right (good). But then, what of the sequence after the 4 with the $ underneath? THe last, after the 0, should be starting from 0 and down 0 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1

Thus, we are balanced on both left and right

do you mean something like this ? +4 ,then from +4 to -4 are 8 spaces ... 4,3,2,1,0,-1,-2,-3,-4.This is all i can think of....

or maybe is in the substraction of negatives like -7 = -3 +(-4

Can someone explain to me what it means or how the calculations come out for 7 is the negative opposite of 4? I've been racking my brain trying to grasp this and don't understand how to do the math on this Also, what are the other opposites?
