Pick 3 play types

I've been studying and playing my Daily 3 for a few months. I usually play str/box and sometimes straight, but I haven't played as a box.

I don't see the upside for me, playing a box because should a box and not a straight come up, you're only losing half the box value. However, if a straight is drawn you're losing a significant amount.

Am I missing something with playing a box
