Just curious, with regard to central tendency of any data, why the preference or choice of the parameter MEAN? why not frequent variable(digit) of said data (MODE). A measure of dispersion depends much on standard dev, range (mostly subsets of data ), etc.

If you study the lowest drawn and the highest drawn numbers for each draw ignoring the rest then the deviation becomes more useful and can produce good results but only for the two outer numbers, the reason for this is due to the limits of the initial pool, if you split the draw result into numerical order then plot each set to a graph you will see the outer numbers are limited to around half the possibilities of the middle set of numbers , this then reflects in the overall possibility of choosi... [ More ]

I had more luck the more I went out. If you keep going out, you can usually see a pattern that will get you closer to the winning set. However, I never had it working well enough to get me a handful of numbers to play. At best, I could only get it to where it reduced the number of playable sets as my starting point.

I don't always use the same amount of drawings. Following to the size of the game you will have different results. A few numbers won't show in 20 games. For a regular lotto I might use at least 30 to 40 games. That way each number will have shown at least once.

A measure of the dispersion of a set of data from its mean. The more spread apart the data, the higher the deviation. Standard deviation is calculated as the square root of variance. Anyone else using this tool for games ? I've been doing some research into Deviation Analysis is looks very promising for another tool in Lotto games.
