How to install Lotsoft Pro 5 (clean install)

I installed Lotsoft Pro 5 on an older computer running Windows XP and also registered the Pick 3 and Pick 4 games using the props.mdb file.

How to install Lotsoft Pro 5 (clean install)

Instructions:

Close Lotsoft 5 Pro if open

Locate your Lotsoft Pro 5 installation folder. Normally it is C:\ProgramFiles\INW\

Double click the INW folder

Double click the data folder

Locate the P3.mdb and P4.mdb files

Make a back up folder and name it BackupFilesMDB

Copy and Paste both the P3.mdb and P4.mdb files into the BackupFilesMDB folder created above

Download the following 2 mdb files

Lotsoft Update Alert!!!!!!!

For those who did a Live Update today (Friday December 26, 2014) you will need to delete any New Jersey Midday and Evening draws for both Pick 3 and Pick 4 that have a draw date of 12/25/2014.

There were NO New Jersey draws for Christmas 12/25/2014

Just delete any New Jersey Pick 3 and Pick 4 draws of 12/25/2014.

For those who did not perform a Live Update for both Pick 3 and Pick 4 I corrected the FTP draw files to reflect the correct histories.

That sums up what has been going through my mind since I first read Steve's post. Underscore TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF TIME AND EFFORT TO MAINTAIN.

Very few people let that sink in. Few can appreciate the effort. And unless you maintain a website or write programs its almost impossible to understand the time, effort, or the complexity of the issues involved.

This is why most lottery software and websites out there go kaput after a time. It is a tremendous amount of time and effort to maintain. I have been doing it at Lottery Post for almost 15 years now, and I maintain more data and web pages than anyone. (Almost 2 million web pages exist at Lottery Post.) It makes me sorta laugh when people give me sh*t about the way I do things to keep this site going. Makes me wonder what they would be saying if it no longer existed.

Between the time when Ricky passed and winsumloosesum took over running LoftSoft, I was able to update my state's games

by just clicking on add draw each evening and adding the draws. That's not so bad if you're only playing a couple of states,

but if you're an all states player it will be a bit of a chore.

Is there any way possible to tie LotSoft in with the LP drawing updates so we could continue to use it?

Can this be done, Todd? I'm sure it would be very much appreciated.... [ More ]

All your help has been appreciated.

I think there is enough information here for people to get the program running on their computer and maintain their own State Game's results if they wish. I would definitely not spend anymore time adding states or state games for anyone or helping people with basic PC knowledge. Trying to be everything to everyone never works out well.

Are you receiving an error when you click the Live Update button(s)?

You may have the wrong FTP infor in the props.mdb file located in the LotsoftPro installation data folder. C:/ProgramFiles/INW/Lotsoft/data

Go back a few pages of this thread. I explained how to change the ftp server location in the props.mdb file.

Let me know if you have any questions.

The draw histories were updated this morning around 11am. Last draw should be 11/21/14

The web based program Ricky had was called LASAS3. This was discontinued and is included in Lotsoft Pro 5 Pick 3 games only. There is a toolbar called Alert System .

You can use this for your particular game or use the All States text file I created instructions for a page or 2 back in this thread.

Thx skyline69 for your reply. I believe Ricky used his tool LotSoft to identify structures that were very overdue. Each month he would provide information for the state you were interested in, and it was a real time saver.

For example, let's look at ODD or EVEN numbers. The 8 PERMUTATIONS are:

I did a clean install on a Windows XP machine that never had Lotsoft Pro 5.

I installed the program and opened it and had the unregistered version.

This is what you need to do:

1. Close Lotosft Pro 5 if open

2. Download the following zip file from this link:

Unzip the file to a location on your computer that will be easy to find.

Desktop

Inside this zip file there are 3 mdb (database files) p3.mdb, p4.mdb,... [ More ]

Place /download the Allstates text file on your Desktop or any folder. Create a new game. Import the text file into Lotsoft.

Just follow the instructions from a few pages back. I think there is a PDF with instructions.

The ftp location changed a month or so ago. The new ftp address is ftps60.brinkster.com

When you open (double click) the props.mdb file you will need a password which is: {0,1}f(XP)

Double click the tbl_Props Table

You should see the following: Access 2010

Make sure 27 FTPLocation (highlighted ins yellow) is ftps60.brinkster.com

Below is the example is using the FREE MDB Viewer Plus program. See Blog.

I imported the two files to the ..\data folder and I see the files are up to date to 11/03/14.

I tried to run the Live Update button from the main menu again and it is given me the error at the ftp connection.

I am trying to find the video you were referring but I cannot find in your blog. Actually, i cannot find your name in the listed blog either.

Question: Why do I need to change the FTP server location?

it is not the location of the updated draws is located on a certain server

The Live Update button for either Pick 3 or Pick 4 will update every single state.

If you you want to just update just 2 states you can double click the state(s) and enter the next drawing by clicking the Add New Draw button.

If you need to update with a large number of past draws you can import a text file into Lotsoft by clicking the Import Draws From File button.

Are you receiving an error when you click the Live Update button? If you are then you will need to change the server

I thought I just click on Draws-live update and it should connect to the FTP server, but it cannot connects.

Brinkster support informed me that the server where the FTP files are located is down. They are working on fixing this. When it will be up again is anybody's guess.

OK, I just checked and apparently brinkster's server is up...

I brought up a hex editor (Neo) to display the contents of props.mdb and searched (CTRL-F) for brinkster and found the following that I highlighted in red box.

Hex Editor Props.mdb

You can see it shows ftps15.brinkster.com.

I then started up WireShark which is a tool that lets you analyze the traffic on your local network. I filtered on my computer's IP address.

Well the server is still down so no Live Updates.

Spoke to tech support this morning and they are trying to fix it.

If anyone know any ftp experts this is what I'm trying to achieve.

I already tried creating a new host account with ftp and tried to mirror the brinkster server without any success with the Live Update.

I created an FTP server on my computer similar to the Brinkster server and that did not work (yet).

Did you copy and paste the props.mdb file into the C:/Program Files/INW/Lotsoft/data folder?

This props.mdb file has the registration codes for Pick 3 and Pick 4.

Winsumloosesum,

I have read your posting from page 25 to 33 over and over again.

I have uninstall, reinstall 4 times and I still get the application running as unregistered; and it is a trial for 20 days

I run as an administrator.

After each uninstall, I cleared the registry, and files and reboot the computer. I received the same result each reinstall .

I am running Windows 7.

The files are dump into the folder: c://program files (x86)/INW/Lotsoft/.....

Just to let everyone know brinkster.com server is down so if you try and perform a Live Update for either Pick 3 and Pick 4 you will receive an error message.

As soon as the server is back up I will post the update.

Important: No action needed for Lotsoft users who can successfully run the Live Updates

Instructions:

You most likely have the older FTP server location.

Follow the instructions from the video below.

You will need to either have Microsoft Access installed on your computer of download and install the FREE program download link posted in my Blog.

Here is my Excel file that I use to update my Pennsylvania Pick 3 combined draws, export a text file with 10,000 draws.

I then create (or delete) my new game called PACombinedDraws, import my text file created by the Excel file below:

If you can send me a text file with all the Illinois Pick 3 draws I can send you the Lotsoft file.

Below is my Pennsylvania Pick 3 combined draws.

This is what I do.

I have a list of all the Pennsylvania Pick 3 games 10,000 draws max.

The date is what's key. The most current date is at the very bottom of the list. The dates are all different even though the Midday Evening draws should be the same date. I have an Excel file if you would like a copy.

Try right clicking and Run as Administrator 1st and see how many states you have.

If it's not 79 then use below.

Then run live update again.

Let me know if this worked!!

According to the p3.mdb that I downloaded, there are only 76 states, including AllStates in tbl_States: Table query. That one doesn't have NM (Midday).

If you downloaded and copied and paste into the C:\Program Files\INW\Lotsoft\data folder, the p3.mdb file from the previous post they should already be there.

Can you post a screen shot of all your Pick 3 games? I have a total of 79 Pick 3 games (midday and evening) This includes New Mexico
