FYI, Side Bar -if you haven't seen it yet

In a formal opinion, the state attorney general has declared that Tennessee law prohibits participation in a lottery pool managed by a third party throwing cold water on a Blount County man's idea for a part-time business, though apparently not on informal pools among friends.

I'd be concerned with the claiming the tickets and then having to claim it for taxes unless Florida doesn't make you do that. In PA you have to claim $600 and over, you can also claim your losses up to that amount but if you are dividing up the wins you are the one ending up paying on it.

When it comes to money it might be better to go it alone...everyone wants to jump on the winners band wagon but if you hit a dry spell...it will get ugly.. too many posts across the boards pretty much prove... [ More ]

When it's a club of friends you don't have those problems, friends share and cover for each others, it all gets worked out in the end.

Good luck with your club but what I don't understand is why you want to do all that legwork and calculating.

Is your club going to have a membership fee? How are people going to get money to you to play say, if you are in

Florida and they are in California? How will they get paid? And finally, when will they feel scammed?

Maybe you are a numbers guru in all states, give them some numbers to play in their own state. Friends share.

Members who consistently win almost daily never post predictions because no body would believe their claims after seeing the results of their predictions.

I wonder why many friends all over the country that want to play lottery here because of my wins almost daily. believes she is consistently predicting winners even if she predicts pick-3 and pick-4 wins occasionally in the mystic forum

Don't worry. I mean if it is successful, I would want the club to focus on higher prize games such as the Hoosier Lotto. Maybe visit different casinos and develop different lottery systems as a whole.

If you're talking about lottery clubs and the FL lottery run by Mike C. I'd be wary.

Sounds good but he's a network marketer first and foremost.

Just as an FYI, a long time ago I was involved with something like this, also FL lottery, actually started getting paychecks, and the guy who put it together got a cease and desist letter from the Feds.

Prime Directive of Lottery Groups: GET IT IN WRITING!

Physical signed agreement from all parties.

Payment due before the draw, or you are not in the pool -- no exceptions.

Purchased combinations/numbers shared before the draw, so that no one can accuse you of cheating.

Call me cynical.

Called the Florida lottery and they said as long as i buy the tickets myself and are not mailing any tickets to anyone that it is ok.

I have many friends all over the country that want to play lottery here because of my wins almost daily..

and they all are wanting to to do a lottery club.

I will purchase the tickets here in Florida myself.

but i do not know the legalities of that can anyone help me.
