It's a personal decision: One rule of thumb should be : Don't play with borrowed money, mortgage money, food money ...play with walking around money - the no regret funds.

You don't win?- no big deal , you not going to miss that change that was floating around in your pants pocket or wherever.

In Ohio special deals are offered on their MM and Keno games if you buy your tickets during certain periods before the drawings so you should check your lottery website promotions before making your decision.

Interesting as there does seem to be a pattern of when winners seem to be more apt to win. Full moons for doubles and trips.

My time to play is when I have money in my bank account. Otherwise, bills first!

As for time of day, I've found that if I play between 2pm and 4pm I seem to get some good winners, (meaning I break even or win well).

I generally make a schedule for playing. Certain games must abide by a lottery criteria that I have set up. Pick 3/4 games are mostly played 2-3 weeks after the initial start at the beginning of each new month. This allows me time to track patterns, trends, SPA (sum prediction analysis), root sums, doubles, etc. Jackpot games are played consecutively each draw.
