The California Powerball mini-jack rolls again -- it was over $6m yesterday so look for $6.2m or $6.3m on Saturday's drawing.

Also, the 6-for-5 promotion doesn't seem to be having an impact on 2nd Chance plays -- 1.10m entries in the last week without the promo, 1.12m entries in the first week with the promo. Maybe not too many people knew about it the first week? I don't think I'm going to be saving my entries though.

I'm saving my 2nd Chance codes. I know it won't matter much with over a million entries in each draw, but I figure with lots of people getting double entries in July, the odds of winning the weekly drawing (per entry) will get much worse. So I figure I'll play all my double codes in the middle of August.

I'm still putting my winning tickets in now though, I think I read somewhere that 2nd Chance codes are void after a ticket is redeemed.

Used a machine instead and pushed it myself. Shame that they weren't printed on the same ticket but on 2x2 and 2x2. Yeah that second place, sometimes the pari mutuel doesn't suck.

Basically, yes.

Ask your retailer for the $5 combo key. You'll get one PB ticket with two plays and one SLP ticket with two plays. Do it again, and you'll have 2x2 and 2x2. Plus two 2nd Chance codes worth two draws each.

The mini-jack didn't hit, so look for it to be $5.7m or $5.8m! That's like a $10 million annuity jackpot all on its own

I just entered a 2nd Chance code I got from the promo, and even though the ticket says $1.00 I got two entries into the weekly $75,000 drawing. So the promo is a free play and a free code too

Powerball hasn't been hit in California at the 5+0 level since May 17th. The mini-jackpot has rolled over for fourteen draws, and was $5.1m last Saturday. It could be as high as $5.5m on Wednesday! (About $3.3m after federal taxes -- no state tax on lottery winnings in CA!)
