I agree if the odds were 'good' at 1:2 you would only be winning your money back most of the time or make only a $5 or $10 profit. The $30 ticket in CT the overall odds are poor but when you win you win a good amount. I believe its like 1 in 2000 to win between $5000-30,000

No, 1:2.8 is almost the same as 1:3.3

$30 dollar scratch tickets definitely should be 1 in 2 because the risk to lose is extremely high. I mean, if you buy $10 dollar scratch you risk to lose 10 dollars, but when you buy $30 dollar scratch-off you risk with 200% more money and should be rewarded with much better overall odds

$10 games: 1:3.3

$20: 1:2.8

$30: 1:2.5

That's around where they SHOULD BE. But that's not the case at all. Some $10 games in my state have WAAAY better odds than a $20 game, as much as a point higher. The lotteries are all just a bunch of crooks.

In MD They are usually like 1:3 or 1:2.99 or something. I think the $20 prize structure here isn't that great. I suspect it might be better in other states there seem to be more $500 + winners from other states posted often here. One thing I don't like is our tickets tend to have a $20, $25, and $30 prize. Having that many low tier prizes is lame, when the $20 ticket first came out in like 2005 or so it had a $25 minimum prize and the next prize was $50. That ticket used to be better and I think... [ More ]

I do not know about 1in2..but I would like to see the min prize amount on high tickets($20 and over) to be $100. That way if you do win..your like 5 times better off then when you started off. A few states are flirting with a $50 ticket..now that should be 1in2. That be the only way I play..otherwise it be a lot less stress, then losing..to just open my car window when driving down the interstate and letting a $50 blow out it

Do you think that $20 and $30 scratch offs should have 1 in 2 overall odds? I think if you risk that much money in one shot you deserve to have a 50/50 chance.

CT lottery is total crap in that, they offer approximately the same overall odds on $3 dollar tickets and $30 dollar tickets. That does not make sense at all to players. Only to greedy lotteries
