Publishers clearing house does this as well. I think these are more of sweepstakes though, and you can only enter once.

Never heard of a free lottery but there are numerous prizes given out by companies such as HGTV that offer prizes worth as much as $2 million.

I believe there is no purchase necessary for all sweepstakes. You usually have to send them a letter or something for entry though. Nice win though

I used to win all the time at Free Lotto. Each month I'd get probably 8 or 10 checks for $1 - $25 each. Then I don't know what happened but it dried up completely. Haven't played there in over 10 years.

Oh man. I looked up the sites, and the layouts are horrible, and they just scream scam. Promising payouts of 50 million etc. If they actually seemed reasonable I would be more inclined to play.

Like someone else has mentioned sweepstakes are pretty much a free lottery but you usually have to buy a large drink or something of that sort.

It is not free if you have to pay anything upfront, in between, or at the end. Give a penny take a penny is more along the lines of a fair bet.

I don't see why anybody would offer such a game. There is always a profit motive and this goes against it.

It is hypothetical but there are forms of basically free money such as give a penny take a penny. How it would work im not too sure, but I am curious as to how many times someone would play something for free if the jackpot is only a couple grand. I would probably be burnt out in a couple hours.

Even if the JP was $5 only, plenty of people would play it if it is free. You just go in a store and ask for a Minipot ticket? But which store would sell such a game? where would their commission come from? where would the payout money come from? If it doesn't make sense on paper then it cannot work.

You could play unlimited times each day, but the payout would be smaller. You would instantly win like in a scratch off also. It would only take a couple seconds for each drawing. Would you play this? Why or why not.
