I play North Carolina Cash 5, which has the same format as Ohio. I play my own number and one quick-pick every Monday for seven draws, so I only have to bother with it one day a week.

Ohio's Rolling Cash5 (5/39) seldom goes more than five drawings without a winner and the jackpots start at $100K and roll from there until won. I've often thought about playing it more but I never cared for the attention a daily game requires.

True but no one in my crowd ever won a lottery jackpot. I guess I'll have to join a bigger crowd or do it as an individual.

LP is an excellent source of ideas both good and bad. While individuals seldom win a jackpot, it not surprising when one in a crowd wins once in a while.

What's the difference between an individual winning, and an individual winning amongst a crowd? After all, aren't most of us amongst crowds in our everyday lives

I saw several really good ideas on playing 5/39 pick-5 games, but I moved to a state without one. I still believe that's the type of game where players have the best chance of winning a larger jackpot (compared to pick-3 and pick-4).

If you look at which megaball has followed the last ones in the last 87 drawings, except for one of two times all have been different so if you eliminate those balls than you reduce your choices to 8-10 numbers which have the winning numbers 80% of the time.

You could play all 15 and be sure of a hit every time but since it only pays $1 you would be better off playing the most likely 8-10 and if you don't win anything you've only lost $8-$10 where a win playing all 15 cost you $14.... [ More ]

By matching 5 of 6 two times, I think you are not too far off. I cannot even hit the dumb mega ball and there are only 15 of them to choose from
