Nope never tried it. I'm guessing it's not likely to come up like that. Although, who knows, I guess anything is possible but I wouldn't do it myself.

No. I remember reading in one of the books by Gail Howard in the early 90s where she told several thousand tickets with 1-2-3-4-5-6 was sold in NY every week. If those numbers won the jackpot would be very low.

My guess is many people buy those tickets in Norway to play in Viking Lotto as well.

Amazing to read it's happened twice. And the RoadRunner Cash 5/37 game is 3X more difficult to win than PA Treasure Hunt 5/30 game.

However, on a related topic, the RoadRunner cash winners fared far better winning $~3850 (~14% each) splitting a $27000 jackpot verses the 242 PA Cash 5 jackpot winners who played 5-10-15-20-25 splitting a $100,000+ jackpot to win a paltry $439 (less than 0.5% each)...

No, never played 1 2 3 4 5, but I have played 1 2 3 4 6, I look at it kind of like lo-ball poker.

1 (Ace) 2 3 4 5 would be a straight which stinks in lo ball, but 1 2 3 4 6 is a good hand.

Also, if I play 1 2 3 4 6 I consider it a 'sacrifice bunt' and play a QP with it, hoping that the first set would be a key that 'unlocks' a winning set.

No I don't, but RoadRunner Cash here in New Mexico produced the numbers 1,2,3,4,5 a few years ago and 7 players split the $27,000 jackpot. So yes, there are players that DO play those numbers, but not me.

I wouldn't pick that either, but I've also had a QP with something very similar. (I once had a QP that was one number off on 5 of the 6 winning numbers) Not long after Texas started its lottery, there was a guy who got several quick picks on the same ticket and two of the lines were identical. The news had some college math professor on saying the odds against that were the same as winning the lottery.

If I'm picking my own numbers I wouldn't choose a set like that. But one time I got a quick pick that had 10-11-12-13-14. It's the type of line that I would never choose on my own.

1-2-3-4-5 came up in the PA Treasure hunt 5/30 game several years back. The payout was much lower, but in actual dollars, only several thousand dollars less than the starting jackpot of $10K.

I agree. It certainly can happen and I'm not saying it won't happen.

But! It's folly because if you do it, and those numbers actually do hit, you just won a Jackpot (something that's VERY hard to do) for which you get paid almost NOTHING. How stupid is that

Never have, never will. Not necessarily because it I don't think it can't happen. It can. The reason is there are hundreds if not thousands of people that play such combinations. Which means if those numbers are drawn, the jackpot would be shared with so many people it would hardly be worth playing for.
