Winsum, I watched your video and it worked for me. Thanks again. I had to replace 5.10 with my custom version but I have it on another computer. I am going to try replacing the pick 3/4 and mba file on my version and see what happens. Pauths always gave me those 3 files when states changed. I will see.

Does Live Update still work?

If you can perform a Live Update then you have the correct server location. If you receive an error you will need to change it.

I posted instructions how to change this.

You will need either Microsoft Access or use the free program posted in my Blog (1st Entry)

I will upload my Pick 3 and Pick 4 Lotsoft database files later this morning.

Make a back up of your database files Pick3 and and Pick 4 first.

Located in C:\Program Files\INW\data folder

Hi Everybody, I have a custom version of Lotsoft but I did download the regular lotsoft. Got to go and update everything, like the new states. Anybody out there go the draws in a file. I need back to july 2014. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks for all the work everyone have done to keep lotsoft going.

Indiana (M) has a Sunday draw. Was doing a crosscheck on all states draws and noticed that the Sunday draws have been off. Indiana now has a Sunday MIDDAY draww.

It also has a number of fairly good predictive features, although, as with every attempt to predict random or pseudo random draws, one still has to have a plan and be selective.

1. My earlier comment about the number of draws is that there are 71 draws indeed, but in Lotsoft I only have 61.

2. Adding a state/country is easy. Importing draws--either manually or by text file-- is also straightforward.

3 Question is, how do you get a state you create to update through Liveupdate, assuming

It worked. I used the forced overwrite option and then opened up a few states at random and checked and they all seemed fine. Thanks for your great work.

Still struggling to understand the program . It's so full of great stats that help us in turn understand better these games we play.

One more thing. I notice when it is updating it says it's updating 71 draws but I only have 61 states in my list. I don't mind manually adding the missing states but how do we let them update, sinc... [ More ]

Your correct. Thank you for discovering the errors.

IMPORTANT: Make a backup copy of the P3.mdb and P4.mdb files. These are located in the C:\Program Files\INW\Lotsoft\Data folder. Make a new folder and name it Backup Files. Copy and paste the P3.mdb and P4.mdb files into the backup folder.

We would need to look into this further but where the hardcoded server address is concerned if you (meaning Lotsoft users) edit your windows Hosts file you (winsumloosesum) won't need to mess with the hardcoded address in Lotsoft's Props.mdb file.

With the windows Hosts file (every windows machine has one) you can redirect a hostname to an ip address. So it tells your PC whenever it needs to communicate with a specific hostname eg. ftps60.brinkster.com to go to another,... [ More ]

for some random reason i got to use EL 5 ,and always wanted to try lot soft pro too. The expert lotto is a very, very complex tool and has many capabilities ,filters,charts ..

If it were just me, I would update all 71 and 66 draws (states./nations on LP) manually; but I think Winsumloosesum is on to something, with this challenge to act in the spirit with which Ricky approached this: he would want us to do all we can to keep LS alive... and make others enjoy and learn from the program. It is as much learning tool as well as a winning tool.

1,000%!!! LotSoft is the BEST!!! I don't know what I would do without it. What other software is there with that much information, that also allows you to input your own stats into it that you come up with? Personally, I only play one state so updating the draws is not a problem, but a lot of people play more than one. Bottom line, as long as LotSoft is still around, it is a very good thing.

I fully agree Steve, that we should keep this alive. That seems to have been Ricky's (rest his soul) intention based on the affirmative steps he took to make it free o those of the community who had not purchased and registered the software. As one of the original purchasers of LotSoft I still regard it as the best--scratch that--the only program we need along with Lotterypost and like-minded people, to have a chance at some regular wins. I have tried a number of variations by setting up an FTP server on my computer using Filezilla without any success.

I've changed the FTP location in the props.mdb file many times only to receive an error message.

I've added a new folder to the Brinkster FTP folder and also changed the Props.mdb file and Lotsoft 5 updated as usual.

When the Brinkster server went down a few months ago Brinkster support trnasferred all the FTP file to a new server location. We all changed the FTP location... [ More ]

The nuclear option posited by RL-RANDOMLOGIC

is obviously a measure of last resort. Ricky generously made teh program free sometime before his passing, but hopefully his estate retains rights to the program, since this is undoubtedly the best--no, the only serious P3/P4 software out there, bar none. I also agree with RL that conceptually, although impressive with what it does, LotSoft is pretty straight forward, a testament to a great programmer, which Ricky was.

De-compiling the .exe might yield a work-around but when looking at screen shots of the program

I think it should be simple enough to just rewrite it. I don't know the legal state of the program as

the owner passed away but if that avenue is open then that's what I would do. I don't know what

all the program offers other than what the screen shot shows but short of a prediction algorithm the

rest would be simple. Just my 2-cents

Set up an FTP server on your own computer. Filezilla?

This would require changing a couple lines of code in the props.mdb file located in data folder. C:\ProgramFiles\INW\Lotsoft\data\

I believe that Ricky hardcoded Lotsoft 5 to only perform Live Updates through the Brinkster FTP server. I tried many times to change the FTP location in the props.mdb file and also set up an FTP server on my computer without any luck.

When the time comes you can update any state's game manually but you would also need to click the recalculate statistics button. That is once the Live Update is discontinued.

The website is visited. I did no survey on who the visitors are. Some of them are people from here, others are friends on FB and I suppose that the rest are LP'ers, or friends of visitors. This is to inform all users of Lotsoft Pro 5 that I will no longer be updating the draw histories as of 2/1/2015.

If anyone is interested in taking over updating you will need to perform the following:

Pay the monthly server fees which is currently around $25 per month

Know how to use Excel 2010.

Know how to upload files to Filezilla

PM if your interested.

If I don't receive a response by next Saturday I will be discontinuing the service.
