I've sat out recent drawings too. As a matter of fact, I've sat out all past drawings. Told myself I wouldn't play or even practice working on games like Powerball in earnest, until after I finished working on strategies for the smaller games. But just as you may be compelled to play, I think I may jump in too. I have 4 days to experiment with a couple of ideas, lol. I agree! this $450 jackpot in reality is more like $150-$180 million in your bank account depending on which state you reside.

it is a long shot and a dream but I agree that it is cheap entertainment.

$450 million, $500 million whatever they want to take out in taxes is fine, cause what you end up with after they're done with you is far more than you or 98% of the people who play could ever ever earn in you lifetime. Heck when it's this high it makes me want to take the annunity so I'd have a guaranteed check every year until I died, and again dont care how much it dropped there either, how many of us blue collar workers have jobs where they make millions of dollars a year??? $300 Million Dreams... The annuity value, while a great marketing gimmick that misleads many, is meaningless. The estimated cash value is around $300 million. After taxes, it's drops to around $180 million or even less depending on the winner's state. Still a bundle, but nowhere near $450 million.
