Please make RSS Feed show NEW THREADS, not new posts

A majority of the posts are replies to existing threads, not new posts that start new threads.

Todd already said, that this issue won't be fixed, b/c he doesn't see it as an issue, in the first place. Obviously, other LP members who subscribe to the RSS feeds, are satisfied enough, with the way the feeds currently work. Todd can't please everyone.

With the exception of the Lottery News feed which isn't based on actual Forum threads from members, all of those RSS options you mentioned from both options are displaying all the LATEST POSTS (new replies), and not the LATEST THREADS (new threads)

Check them yourself. Click on any of the feeds and the feed itself will even tell you the Reply # of the respective thread. The feeds are clearly displaying latest posts and not latest threads.

JohnnyDash, Try this.

1) Go to the LP home page.

2) Click on Resources in the blue bar. Scroll down to Syndicated RSS 2.0 Feeds.

3) Scroll down for a list of each individual forums. Click on the one you want.

Option 2

1) Go to LP home page.

2) Scroll down. Near the bottom of the page on the far left side it will say:

RSS 2.0 FEEDS

Lottery News

Event Calendar

Latest Forum Topics

Web Site Change Log

? RSS Info, More Feeds

3) Click on the one you want. Say fo... [ More ]

Do you use the feeds like some of us users do? Because if you did, then I seriously doubt you'd be happy with the way they currently work.

You mentioned there are feeds that don't display all the replies, implying you have feeds that display only the latest threads with their opening posts.

Could you please point me to those feeds as you are correct that I have not been able to find any such feeds on your site, which is why I made my suggestion.

I will not be changing it. I am happy with the way it works currently. I do not think you've investiagted all the possible feeds, because they do not all operate by showing all the replies. Only subscribing to a particular thread shows all the replies in that thread.

It's not just the largest casino site that only displays threads in their RSS Feeds, the largest forums in the world all display only threads in their feeds. There's a reason for that and it's because posts/replies clutter feeds.

In fact, the largest forum software in the world (vBulletin) does this by default, which means all the Forums that use vBulletin are displaying threads in their Feeds, not posts.

Again, that's because a feed cluttered with posts saying Thanks or Great point isn't... [ More ]

Well I guess the largest lottery forum does things differently than the largest casino forum. Wouldn't be the first time.

Thank you for your reply, but neither of the feeds you posted are doing what I mentioned.

Your feeds are displaying the latest posts, instead of the latest threads. There's a huge difference. This is the only Forum I've seen that does that.

The vast majority of forums feed new threads, not new posts, to ensure the feeds don't get cluttered with replies and are only fed new discussion threads.

You can already do this, you're subscribing to the wrong feed. Subscribe to a forum feed to see a feed of new topics in that forum. Click a forum in the Forums menu and look for the feed link in the yellow area at the bottom.

Also you can subscribe to the active topics feed which basically does the same thing across all forums. Click Active Topics in the Forums menu and look for the feed link at the bottom.

Hi Admins,

I really enjoy reading LP and have been a long-time lurker. I like to be able to follow gambling discussions from different sites on my RSS Reader, but the RSS Feeds here are the most frustrating of all because instead of feeding newly created threads and their opening post, they feed EVERY post including short replies. So half the feed is 5-letter long posts just saying Thanks which makes me end up removing the LP feed from my RSS Reader and I miss out on the discussions here.
