It's always Bergen, Hudson or Essex county, the 3 closest to NYC LOL

I had to go up north on business today, Middlesex county, not quite as far as the big 3 but I bought tix anyway.

Now it's true that Staten Island is right next to Union/Middlesex counties but some will say that's not really NYC

I think having a winner at the lowest jackpot amount just shows the random nature a lottery game. Like another poster said above, that's why I always buy a ticket. It's $2.

As far as being underfunded, I don't care. I can't control that. I can control being in the game. If I am lucky enough to win even the lowest jackpot, I can live out the rest of my life in luxurious retirement. That's worth $2 to me. I don't care if it's won every drawing.

True about the social engineering bit - PB has to let a couple of players win minimum jackpots so that people won't think it's rigged that you can't win a jackpot under $100 million LOL

I knew from the very beginning when they went to $2, this current format was a gamble. After all, it usually takes seven draws without a winner for the jackpot to be fully funded under the new minimum jackpot rules. The jackpots could have opened at $30 million (still with $10 million minimum increases), and the last two jackpot wins STILL would have been underfunded

snip , the states are losing money on Powerball! Last Saturday's win in Tennessee was underfunded by $17 million, and last night's win was underfunded by $19 million! In fact, they paid out more money to the jackpot winner than they made in sales!! Three more guaranteed jackpot hits in a row, and PB is out of business!
