Chances of someone winning are based on someone having the winning combinations. Usually that varies with the number of tickets sold but it can happen regardless of ticket sales as has been often observed. For those players who believe having the winning combination is no mere random event, have at it and good luck.

Yes, your analysis could be 100% accurate, but then there is still a 10% odds. I know its is a very thin line for winning that much but it does exist. I love playing mega millions sometimes.

Based on my analysis of the past year, the chances that no one will win a Mega Millions jackpot of ~$150M are about 90%.

That's right. When the jackpot is around 150 million dollars, there are typically around 30 million tickets sold per drawing. Statistically speaking, you can expect there will be no winner almost nine times out of ten.

Chances are slim to none that no one will win.

The chance of winning is based on ticket sales and if there is a trend, it's an on average lower ticket sales when jackpots are under $350 million. Tonight's MM sales should be around $30 million and with a less than 12% chance of winning the jackpot. Compare that with PB requiring $175 million in ticket sales to get a 50% chance.

The trend lately is that these lotteries are way too easy to win when jackpots are under $100 million, way too hard to win when they are at $100-$300 million, and then all of a sudden become way too easy again at $300 million plus.
