The new version of MM will have an option of only playing for the jackpot. Unless your retailer sell the jackpot winning ticket there will be no need to check your tickets. I guess they figure some players rather not be bothered checking a ticket that didn't win the jackpot.

Mega Millions is changing Oct. 31 to $2.00 a play and reswizzling the matrix and payouts.

We can not play because we think the payouts don't reflect the probability of win (lottery odds) and cost of playing.

If really, really wanted to play, the Jackpot would have to be some $3 Billion + for us to even consider playing.

It's not worth it anymore; let everyone else jackup the jackpot; we can just sit back; wait and watch.

Like right now I will be focusing using lets say only 1000 samples. Then, if the results will not be elevated I will go down in number of samples ..

yep, that 1 up/1 down is a real close one.

the disimualte() function tries to mimic the possible selections by column in the example you've provided.

we've been using the Extended Pseudofrequency with relatively good success on the MN Northstar Cash.

just this saturday we won $6.00 using 15 numbers wheeled for 10 plays with a guarantee of at least one line with 2 winning numbers if we get 3 correct.

we actually got more than the stated guarantee.

Hi! I used a couple formulas for last night's powerball drawing. My numbers were very close to the actual drawing. I also used Jade's disimulate formula and one of the combinations came very close too. I would of had hits if I would of done the +1 -1. I just started using excel as a lottery system. Not sure if the numbers my formulas gave me were a coincidence. I will keep trying. Any luck with the pseudofrequencies?

We take the negative of the Normalized Folded data to get the following.

we've been working on a different approach using Pseudofrequencies by reforming the overall distribution on the Mega Millions and a few other games here in MN.

there are 3 other derived Pseduofrequency distributions that can be used with the Disimulate() and DisimulateNexus() functions.

all together there are 4 distributions: Normal, Inverted, Folded, and Extended.

the Extended seems to do the best.

The select button shows the usage of the Disimualte function to the right.

The Disimulate function selects at random based on the Distribution below.

The -1 and +1 show the numbers one above and below the selected value.

The function works well with many samples, but with fewer samples, it tends to select a narrow set of numbers.

To eliminate the narrow selection with less samples we made the DisimulateNexus function.

Looks like you need to update the powerball code (PBNexus), in 2015 they changed to 5/69 and 1/26. That will probably change your distributions too.

Also in October MegaMillios will change it's format

Actually, you're not that far off from a post we made years ago called Combintorial Symmetry.

Every combination has a symmetrical counterpart.

The combination you have appears to be for Mega Millions Pick 5 part.

The Combinatorial Symmetry is as follow:

Combinatorial Symmetry

Symmetric Number - S(n,z) = n - z +1

n - total number of items

z - item number in the set

In your case, n is 75.

Found a problem on the Powerball sheet.

You can temporarily fix by changing

to

and

In cell W8 change the following

=IF(ISNUMBER($V8),DisimulateNexus($M$8:$M$66,N$8:N$66,W$3,W$4), )

to

=IF(ISNUMBER($V8),DisimulateNexus($M$8:$M$76,N$8:N$76,W$3,W$4), )

in cell W8, then copy cell W8 to all cells W8 through AC1507

We'll fix it in the Excel file later tonight.

OK, we fixed a problem accessing our server.

Unfortunate thing about restricting access to certain IP addresses is the IP address needs to be in the system first.

Dual ISP routers muddled things up; uff-da, what a mess.

Anyway, we made an Excel file using the new =Disimulate2D() function.

There's another idea we have that relates to an AI approach to using these Random/Quantum simulations that we have not posted anywhere.

Keep in mind, these are just the first baby steps into vastly more complex algorithms we have not shared... yet.

Also, sorry, there will be a delay in posting Excel sheets for Mega Millions and Powerball; we've been more busy at work than expected.

As I mention before, I often play numbers from your dissimulate program, did not hit big yet, but got a few times 2,3 to 4 numbers right, however did not get 4 in one combination yet. Your approach how you look at the numbers from the beginning from tree sums by position to dissimulate. I feel there is something very very promising in it.

Thanks. Yes, we can get the Mega Millions and Powerball out this weekend.

Been busy as all get out with work.

This new formula format may show its usefulness in another post we are working on because of the 2D distribution that could arise from the complex form of the analysis.

That post is How far away is a P3 combo from a triple?

The kinds of distribution can be 2D and the =Disimulate2D() function make picking numbers easier than plain ol' guessing.

Wow thank you for the response. I do know basic math and a little algebra . Very impressive and you must be highly motivated to reach yourself as you have. I realize you cant really go deeply into the way it all works . I looked at this forum and found this all to be so fascinating. Thanks for sharing all your ideas. I know you have put a tremendous amount of work in to this. Looks like I am going to have get busy if I want to understand all of this.

Unfortunately, the Forum name, Mathematics, establishes a prerequisite when reading these posts.

You really don't have to be a math genius, but you should know, at a minimum, the basics: add, subtract, multiply and divide; how to solve a simple algebra equation.

In addition, the intended purpose of these posts is to pass along the knowledge to other mathematically interested folks.

A little programming helps and we have posted code in basic language.

Hi

I am not math savvy but I think you must be a genius and I wish I could follow this system more. You definitely understand this very well and it looks to be closest thing to getting there when trying to win the jackpot in mega,powerball. Is 24 still the sum that is most common sum for the mega ball and what is most common for powerball? Wish I could understand this more because it is so fascinating!

How can a person who is math challenged understand this better?
