20 years ago, short term interest rates was around 3% for Treasury Bills; around 5% for Treasury Notes, and around 6% to 7% for Treasury Bonds. I remember that a 5 year CD was giving a 6% yield. But thanks to the manipulation of the Federal Reserve, interests rates are now less than 1%. The only why a person is going to get more than that is in the stock market as the interest rates on Bonds are terrible. It might take a generation or more for interests rates to get to where they were in the ear... [ More ]

At my age, if I win a jackpot, I'm more interested in money protection, than money growth. Because interest rates are so low, it takes risky investments to grow money. You can't really grow money like you could 20 years ago.

But, if I won a few million, I wouldn't need to.

That's actually a good thing, because it shows that he's not stupid enough to accept the risk that would be necessary to get that kind of return. So that others would, could reap the benefits of your struggle to amass that wealth, screw that- l would call that an obsession! Heck, if you not satisfied with $200 mil, what makes you think you going to be satisfied with a Billion Dollars? When would one be enjoying their wealth if all one tells themselves Reach a Billion Baby . I would want to

I'm guessing there's a strong correlation between managing your lottery jackpot well and not having the media report about what's happened since you won. If somebody is disciplined enough to invest wisely and spend appropriately I don't expect them to be the subject of news stories. I think Brad Duke is probably unusual, in that he seems to appreciate some media attention, but hasn't done anything really stupid for the media to report on.

That said, I've seen a few reports that say people who... [ More ]

I certainly would love to see if there are Lotto winners who won on average $5 Million to $10 Million and was able to make it grow into $60 Million to $100 Million in less than 10 years.
