OK, here's the math on widths:

a width of zero occurs 10 times out of 1,000 combinations in Pick 3 games.......

a width of 1 occurs 54 times out of 1,000....

here's the breakdown:

0 10 times.....

1 54 times

2 96

3 126

4 144

5 150

6 144

7 126

8 96

9 54

A total of 690 combinations out of 1,000 have a width from 3 to 7 .......
