A yr. or so after the Texas Lottery started, they ran a TV advert w/ a couple of the winners. Both men were on the upper side of middle aged and they were arguing about which one was going to be the first one to win it twice. I didn't think Hey! Ya'll need to lay off to give ME a chance! I would never play again if I won a JP. I would not play because I would already be well off and I wouldn't want to screw anyone out of a jackpot that might really deserve it or need it

This reminds me og how people were ragging on the Bayfords ( 190m winners) when the husband was photographed buying a ticket after hitting the jackpot.

I'd like to keep playing as it's fun and a bit of a habit, but if I absolutely couldn't and I was the solle winner of $100m cash, then yeah, I'd stop.

Brad Duke still plays, but I don't think it's to perfect his system, at least not exclusively for that reason, because he won a few bucks on Idaho's raffle a year or 2 ago.

I'm not that type of player. I do it for the entertainment value of dreaming what I'd do if I won, and for the money. If I had the money, I wouldn't need the dream because I'd be too busy spending my money.

No. I agree with riscknight. Let's suppose you came up with a pick 4 straight system that REALLY kicked butt. I'm talking straight hits 50% of the draws. Since the amount of the jackpot wasn't specified, you could easily bypass the jackpot win and still enjoy playing.

I strongly believe that are also some folks here who are trying to perfect their systems / strategies for years; 'beat the odds' - you may call it whatever you choose. You can't stop playing the Lottery if you make a descent living out of it or win the JP. It only makes sense *to me*, to try even harder to perfect your 'system', 'strategy', 'programs' and take it to the next level.

Yeah as long as it's a JP for a game I choose to play, and as long as I'm the sole winner (or get at least a million in the case of multiple winners) then I'd be happy to stop playing. I'd have to watch myself for a few months till I get out of the habit though. It's become second nature to put on my walking shoes and walk to a c-store or grocery store or liquor store and get a ticket without even thinking about what I'm doing.

You read a lot into a simple question. BTW, he didn't mention how big of a jackpot. If it's a Cash 5 worth $18,000, or a record setting jackpot, or somewhere in between. Maybe that plays into the equation, no?

I actually thought about this the other day. If I won a PB, MM, or Lotto jackpot I realized I would keep playing as I usually just buy 1 line for each game. The main reason is that I just really enjoy playing the lottery, and not just the jackpot games.

You will hit a jackpot but the condition is you can never play lotto again. If you do you'll lose everything you won and never hit again.
