Also if they are scratch offs they have codes the stores activate that show the tickets are being sold at their location.

Kentucky had trouble with thieves ripping off tickets at one store and traveling down the road to cash in winners before a stores could alert everyone of the stolen tickets so stores stopped cashing tickets they didn't sell.

There's a code on the tickets that tells what store tickets were bought at.

How do they know where they were bought? I don't think the retailer can tell in Idaho. Pretty sure only the lottery has that info.

I once brought some tickets while traveling through Kentucky and found out stores along the main traveled routes wouldn't cash tickets that weren't brought at their store.

Wondering what time does your lottery close off the time to redeem winning tickets?

Bought a scratch off on my drive to IL and want to be able to arrive in KY in passing to be able to cash in my ticket instead of mailing it out.
