I'm just sticking to the local lottery. Jackpot might be lower but the odds are a lot better than powerball or mega millions.

MM for me. Lucky Day and Lotto only when the jackpots get to near 1mil and 10 mil, respectively.

I swore I wouldn't play MM or PB any longer with the matix changes unless the jackpot got way up there, until someone won $106 million on a MM quick pick in one of the stores I purchase tickets in last month, however, I cut back on the number of tickets I buy, I only buy one ticket now just to be in the drawing. I wonder with more people stating that they are not going to play powerball or wait until the jackpot gets really high. With that said, there will probably be less winners and a longer time span before the powerball gets to record highs.

About this new format by Powerball I will have to take a look to see what drawings come out. If anyone is lucky enough to hit the numbers. I recall last week my mothers girlfriends husband was telling me that there were changes going on. So why can't the states just do their lotteries. The odds are rediculous. Currently reside in Philadelphia so there are perhaps instant tickets depending on which ones I could play and hit. Spending up to $20 would be just that. Better off playing MM instead if... Since I live in Oklahoma we don't have a state lotto jackpot game, I will play Hot Lotto. I did buy a Powerball last night but didn't win a dang thing lol...

Of course since I'm in Illinois and the state is only paying under $25K I'll put those games on hold and go with Pick 3/ 4 and scratchers for now.

The Lucky Day Lotto is at $650,000.

I don't play MM regularly either since they changed the matrix. When I occasionally do play and check my numbers, I seldom have one number even close. It feels so impossible.

I play by expectation value, generally when it reaches 0.7 or 0.8, or higher which this new Powerball will probably never do.

Right now I have NY Lotto tickets advanced play for about 5 more drawings.

MegaMillions could conceivably get up to 0.7 or 0.8 or higher.

What are you playing instead?

We only have one in-state game and the top prize is $52K taxes paid which works out to around $67K IIRC. Not worth a $2 bet IMHO since that isn't even a life-changing amount. So for now I'm planning on playing an extra Lucky for Life.

I'm considering going over to Oregon to play their jackpot game that's worth a couple million right now.

I'll continue to play Hot Lotto and Wild Card 2, but I won't increase my play on those.
