Another example of it only takes one play/ticket to win ... and this is essentially the same as a random quick-pick ticket, so no system involved in winning.

Let's also not forget that the largest single amount winner for PowerBall (as of this moment), was a single quick-pick ticket here in Florida. Once again, random luck and no system involved...

Unless I hit the Pick 3 / Pick 4 by tomorrow, I'll be sitting out the PA raffle this cycle. No point in rushing to buy anyways, since the late tickets often win big.

While it could be normal statistical variation, it does make one wonder whether are issues with the computer RNG Florida use.

Does PA use a similar type of randomizer? Sure seems that way based on past raffle results.

Judging from the ticket numbers , five of the seven million dollar winning ticket numbers were sold LATE in the sales cycle.

Big deal you say? Well, consider this; the same phenomenon has been occurring regularly in The Pennsylvania Millionaire Raffle. Why? Who knows!!! But it does. Don't believe it? It's not going to matter. Since this is not an annuity payout your liability will rest in the state in which you resided upon the purchase of the ticket. This takes for granted you are a US citizen. So, unfortunately even if you move to Florida before you claim a prize, but after you purchased the ticket, your NC tax rate is going to apply. Key words whichever occurs first . If all 750,000 tickets are sold before 11:59:59 pm tonight (12/30) sales obviously would end at that point in time. Otherwise, ticket sales will end at 11:59:59 pm regardless of how many are sold. To answer your question directly, according to the rules, the raffle will not go longer than December 30.

I bought one at 10:51 around the 550,700 range, and another in the 552,600 range at 11:36, so they're selling at around 2,000 per hour right now. Sales rate may increase later in the day. They need to sell at a rate of approximately 16,500 per hour for a sellout.

What he said is not accurate. If anything, the drawing would be postponed, not cancelled. But I don't believe there is even anything in the rules about The Florida Lottery having the discretion to postpone the drawing. The Pennsylvania Lottery does retain the right to postpone their Millionaire Raffle.

I don't think they are going to come close to a sell-out which means better odds for us.

I bought two tickets today. One at 8am in the 509,000 range and one at 7pm in the 521,000 range. That means only 12K to 15K tickets will be sold today. They need to sell 110,000 on 12/29 and on 12/30 for a sell-out. Not likely to happen. Given the drop in sales, I bet it finishes in the low 600,000s.

I think the $300M powerball jackpot are cannibalizing sales for the raffle.

While it may not seem like it actually can happen, a rate of 41,000 to 42,000 tickets sold per day is attainable. I've seen it happen in Pennsylvania with their Millionaire Raffle.

My thinking is that Wednesday, and Thursday of this week will see a surge in ticket sales. Not to mention next week on Wednesday and Thursday just prior to the drawing. Tickets might not sell out, but my guess is more tickets will be sold than most realize.

372,000 at around 1:00 today. So from Saturday at 2:00, to Monday at 1:00, about 34,000 tickets were sold, an average of 17,000 per day. So sales just squeaked above the 16,300 daily average needed for a sellout.

I'm pretty sure that by the end of today, sales will reach the halfway mark (375,000.) With nine days left to sell the other half, a daily average of 41,000 - 42,000 is needed for a sellout.

That sucks big time. I've seen a couple of raffles that didn't sell out, but the states that sponsored them didn't delay the drawing to extend sales. In July of 2014, Connecticut sold less than half of the maximum of 275,000 tickets in their millionaire raffle. It was held as scheduled, but they haven't held one since it happened either. I cant help but wonder if they don't have them any more because of what happened. G5

I was in on an the Ohio New Years raffle last year. Tickets did not sale out, however the lottery extended sales to the New Years drawing by a few days so people who didn't have a chance to buy could get a ticket . Players were Pissed off big time. Here's my story:

I played every year they had it, every time they had a raffle. Have never won a dime. I filed for bankruptcy and divorce this year. I am also owed 23K in arrears from my oldest son's father and haven't gotten a payment since May 2015. I'm a senior at our University for social work plus I am taking medical coding classes as my work is transitioning me to this field. Needless to say I am about at the end of my rope here with 2015.
