It's between the state lotto and MM, depending on how long the state has been rolling over. At the lotto starting level, MM 2nd place looks better than the lotto jackpot(annuity).

My plan is one MM ticket with multiplier for each drawing and add lotto only when the jackpot has been rolling over for a while.

My vote is State Lotto in terms of their jackpot. If it's the real jackpots, I go for the Mega Millions ($1 per draw) instead of Power ball ($2 per draw).

Wasn't there supposed be a lot more lower tier winners (2nd 3rd prizes etc.) with the matrix change with each drawing... it doesn't appear to be any different to me, in fact there seems to be less.

Right now the cash option for MM is $28.9 million and for PB it's $77.9 million. I'm not sure how you do math, but it looks to me like the cash value of PB is more than 2.5 times as much as for PB. When you account for the difference in the cost of tickets and the odds the cash values are pretty much equal, but it changes for each drawing.

In California, Super Lotto Plus JP odds are 1:42M. Compared to MM (1:258M) or PB (1:292M).

Cost per ticket weighs into it, as well. PB is twice the amount to play with slightly less chance of winning a JP?

It wouldn't surprise me at all if PB lowers their cost back down to a buck. Their sales are stagnant since the matrix change.

They should have lowered the PB-count, because its the only reason I'll play MM instead of SLP (15 vs 27 MBs).
