I always thought that is what I would do, too, Teddi. I'd do a blog for LP outlining all experience from finding out I won to what I do in the first year or so with the winnings.. the good, the bad, and the ugly - not to mention the beautiful.

BUT, I think I'd send the blog post to Todd to create an account and post so the techies here could not trace me through IP or some such techie thingie. Then I'd continue to post as me, piaceri, and ooo and awww over the blog posts.

I am a little sad to think there may not ever be a show like Lottery Changed My Life again, though. I really did enjoyed watching it.

I still wouldn't do it if I ever won, but I'd sure tune in to watch other folks if they did

One out of 41 LP voters said they would appear on the show so I was just asking why you're swimming against the tide. Just the fact you want to know what jackpot winners are doing and have done with their winning is the reason the more vocal LP members are demanding total anonymity.

Sounds like a severe case of jackpot envy to me.

Good idea? Yes and no. Yes, it'd be nice to see how lottery winners that were previously on the show are doing now--better or worse. For instance, Brad Duke. I'd like to see how he's doing. Was he on a lottery show? And no, Some winners probably wouldn't want the extra publicity. They probably learned their lesson the first time around.

Just because somebody wins the lottery doesn't mean they're not a loser. People like David Lee Edwards are missing a lot more from their lives than just money, and they'll jump at any chance for some attention, especially if they think it's positive attention.

I voted yes because lottery winners are so common anyway that no one would bother me I don't think.

They wouldn't even want me on the show I think. That show is about people that actually SPEND their lottery winnings and buy things people can Oooh and Ahhh over. There would be nothing too exciting about a winner buying a $200,000 condo and maybe a $40,000 car and then just sitting on their money living modestly off the returns of their investments.

It's not the big one ,but a couple years back a lady in Liverpool ,NY had won $250.000.00,she was all over the local news. Two knuckleheads came into her house and roughed her up ,looking for the money,sending the lady to the hospital ,and she hadn't even received the check . Knuckleheads were caught and arrested , lady healed up and was sorry she ever went public about her new fortune ,which quickly became her misfortune .

No way. I love to watch other winners on the show just to see how their lives have changed. What their lives were like before the win. I am also nosey in seeing what they are doing with their good fortune in who and how they help. Some of the shows are mild to wild.

I am already rethinking that big nice house. Although acreage and property i wont give up on, but with the big house comes extra heating, cooling, cleaning, etc. the jury is still out on that but at least I am giving it thought.

Very sweet of you to plan to offer your experience and advice to other future winners. I have often thought that I would grant an interview to Todd, under guarantee of anonymity, of course. LP'ers would like to know that one of their own is a winner.

I'd do the same thing. I'd probably claim the prize as a trust and then basically not do anything for a while until the excitement has died down. Then I'd make changes like quitting my job, moving, and starting a new life. I never seek the limelight, I just want to mind my own business and live my life in peace.

I agree. It makes as much sense as those people who've won and have then publicly claimed that winning was a curse, but who then still buy tickets.

On the one hand, I can't stand those who say they've had to move or hire security because they are in fear for their lives, but then do everything they can to keep themselves in the limelight. On the other hand, I'm glad they love the attention that much because it allows us to learn from their mistakes.

Like author and journalist Don McNay says, Do not flash your cash in public . Most wealthy people are not in the news talking about their money. They value privacy.

I will stay here on LP when I win. I will play different lottery games.

I can't understand why people would want to be on that show (or more generally, be on TV). They must be extremely needy or attention-seekers.

It is especially hard to understand when some of them have had death threats or have had to move to a larger town to avoid attention. And then they go on TV and ignite the attention all over again

I was thinking about this while I was driving over night. Also, what do you think of the winners that go on that show? A lot of them I've never heard of. It seems to me that they are asking for people to come after their windfall.
