Muni's can be a good investment for individuals in the high tax brackets, such as a jackpot lottery winner. There is not federal tax on the interest. Also no state tax if issued by the state residing in. Keep in mind though, they can default (Look at Detroit), so it may be wise to not put all the eggs in one muni basket. Overall though, I think the default rate on municipal bonds is pretty low.

My plans are to win $250,000 in our all or nothing game...if you get 12 of 12 numbers right or all 12 wrong you win that much...when the game first came out I didn't like it but now just play one or two at the time for fun am doing better.

...got 10 of 12 today for $50 one not long ago...if I can get 10 of 12 I can get 12 of 12 right so going to keep playing until I do...I see some have already won it.

Yea, GOOD luck with 'Live off of interest' - until the FED increases the fed funds rate you would need to own stocks that pay a good dividend to do that. Unless you hit a LARGE/HUGE jackpot.

Last night my '99 Infiniti G20 died on me. It had been giving me fits for awhile. I had it towed to a Nissan dealership where I usually have my car worked on.
