If you go to the SCEL website -at the bottom of the page click on claim form. You have to answer yes or no to publicizing your name, picture etc.

You can add Wyoming to that list. It's on their website that they will honor requests for anonymity.

Yup. SC is a anonymous state. Someone won $400 million and claimed it anonymously.

It is but must specifically be requested. It is not 'advertised' because they prefer to have the winners plastered all over the media sites... it is a great promotion. Remember though, due to lottery winners being paid with state funds, there are steps one could take through the freedom of information act to force the reveal of an anonymous claim. Can someone with authority clarify if South Carolina a true anonymous state? According to news articles in Google yes it is. But the South Carolina lottery website makes no mention of it.

Did the past winners simply ask for no publicity? Or is South Carolina a True anonymous state. This is so confusing.
