It's only a theory if you suspect it to be true and have no way of proving it. With lottery data easily available at most lottery websites, that's not hard to prove one way or another.

You could say Primes + 1 and Non-Primes without 1.

P union {1}

NP exclude {1}

There are different notations. A slash sometimes means division, another time it means without, or is just a separator.

I remember a local jackpot with prime numbers and only 1 as non prime.

I use prime numbers as a 50/50 filter for Pick 3. To make the primes group equal to the non-primes I add the digit 1. While 1 is not officially a prime number, shares the characteristic of being divisible only by itself and 1.

Primes: (1) 2,3,5,7

Non-Primes: 0,4,6,8,9
