I am in California USA and was unable to open an account with Thelotter .

I emailed and asked and they said no USA registrations are available at this time because of legislation and hoped that would change in the future...ugh.

As an American living abroad and wanting to move back to the US, I'm quite happy that non-residents can play US lotteries. Heck if I could I would move back to the US in a heartbeat if I won the lottery as it's currently too expensive for me to move right now. So come on big win! So what... Americans come to our side over here in Niagara Falls or Fort Erie Canada and buy our lottery. Right now as I write this the Powerball is the biggest it has ever been and guess what, thelotter webside keeps going down because it can't handle the overload of traffic going there to buy tickets online. I have debunked their claims on why certain places or areas win more, they also have mentioned because more tickets sold excuse, but some how every ticket has an equal chance of winning is claimed too which contradicts what they say. I have tried to point out what I have mentioned many times and have gotten personally attacked on here for it.

The reason those states win more often is because there are more tickets sold in those states. So the chance of someone winning in those states is slightly increased. There is a website with a break down of ticket sales by state. If I find it i'll post it.

What a face palm on that one. Yes no kidding people win, but the excuses some use around here to dismiss the places that people constantly win in still needs to be looked in to further. Just because it is not RNG doesn't mean it can't be rigged, or lottery terminals can't be polled to see what number combinations have been sold or not sold. Well, some time back, maybe a few years ago, it was said to be 175,000,000 : 1 chance of hitting it.

Is it the same now, with the matrix changes we've seen?

Is it even close to the older odds?

That much I know. That's what I was saying sucks about it AND allowing the rest of this crumbling globe to participate. Odds are not only high, but the chance that the jackpot will split multi-ways is horribly real.

Do you have any idea at all about the odds? How many tickets would have to be sold to produce 20 winners, let alone 2000? Do you think that a ticket bought by somebody who's not from the US has a better chance of winning than one bought by somebody who is from the US? No doubt, but do you think the jackpots are ever going to get 'that high', when players are not even tracked for which group they belong?

The 1st Group = Roughly 350 million players? (I'm talking about the U.S.A., alone.)

The 2nd Group = Roughly 7.3 billion players? (I'm talking about the whole world.)

One of my first discussion on LP was about the legality of U.S. residences playing a foreign online lottery that pays $900 for $1 pick-3 payoff. My point was if U.S. players were doing that it was no different than playing with a bookie where there is nobody to complain to when they don't get paid.

Why would someone come all the way from the Middle East, into Kansas to buy a ticket.

The big deal is that it sucks. Like I said, I'm surprised Megamillions and Powerball lotto jackpots aren't split up like 2000 ways every time the lotto is drawn.

What's the big deal? US Citizens are allowed to play foreign lotteries like Euromillions, Canadas lotteries, Spains El Gordo etc. if they travel abroad. If a non-citizen wins, they still have to pay taxes on their jackpot win.

It's not the first time a foreign national including Canadians won lottery prizes over $25,000. The IRS regulations require that 30% is deducted for Federal taxes and of course state taxes are deducted off the top too.

The best way to keep Canadians, Mexicans, and any other foreign nationals from winning US jackpots is Don't sell them tickets .
