People are playing both games, but I just saw where the most bet on one MM drawing in 2015 was $52 million. The majority sales in the last MM drawing ($24.7 million) was in ten states. With sales less than $100,000 in several states, calling MM a National Lottery only reflects the fact a majority of states sell MM tickets.

True but that's only because those states don't allow lotteries within their boarders. Whether or how a lottery is run is the domains of each state.

It sucks getting stuck in Mississippi or Alabama. I'm hardly ever in Utah and have never been to Nevada with this company.

The Massachusetts game Megabucks Doubler can be played from anywhere in the US. While you can't buy a ticket in a store, you can buy a subscription by phone. I don't know of any other state lottery game available across the whole country.

What I mean is lotteries that are played all over the nation. Well, most of it. Mega and PB are played in 44 states, D.C., PR, U.S. Virgin Islands.

Actually, we do! Megabucks Doubler, from the Massachusetts lottery is a national lottery. It is available, throughout the US, even in the states without lotteries.

With Mega Millions currently at $145 mil and Powerball at $334 mill, it got me thinking.. THIS IS PRETTY EXCITING! If Powerball is won tonight, Mega is there to pick up the slack. I personally wouldn't mind seeing Hot Lotto go national, but keep the same payout system. It's tax free and what you see is what you win. They would most likely have to change the matrix.
