Times, nationwide over 1 billion tickets were sold for Saturdays drawing. And still no winner... I'm sure there were some duplicates.

Examples. Someone that plays 1,2,3,4,5, 6 just as a goof. People that play all the numbers on one line on the play slip. (Kind of like Bingo.) People that play their birthdays. There are plenty bo... [ More ]

Especially any that are played more than once.

Why? Are you going to wait until the last minute, then check them to make sure your combination hasn't been played yet? If so you should ask the guy that started the thread how many combinations there are.

I guess they'd give a percentage of duplicates, not a searchable database.

If anything, I think it'll encourage people to buy more lines.

That's a good point.

However, to do so would actually discourage people from playing. Who would want to play their favorite numbers knowing in advance they would have to share the big one with someone else

We have 322,806,000 million people in the US. 23.1 % are under 18 years old. Which leaves 248,337,914 of legal age to buy tickets.

With the odds of 292,201,338:1 to one of winning, if each person bought one ticket, there would still be 43,863,424 unsold combinations.

Of course people will buy more than one ticket. I'm just putting the odds of winning in perspective. So maybe no one hits the jackpot after all.

Good Luck
