He would have been a fool to do so - the jackpot still isn't high enough to make it profitable even if there isn't a split - and the logistical issues in buying 292,201,338 distinct tickets are overwhelmingly difficult, even if you do have enough money.

I'm sure the lottery will sell you a 'golden ticket' to cover all possible combinations. Kind of a fool's bet, with paying taxes and the likely chance of splitting the JP. Now would be the time to do it, though.

People that play their own numbers might play low numbers, but QPs make up the majority of ticket sales when the JP is this high.

I just read an interesting article a few days ago that brought up a great point that never would have dawned on me. Because many people play numbers relating to dates, chances are that there won't be a single Power ball Jackpot Winner unless someone played a bunch of numbers over 31. This makes a lot of sense to me not that I wouldn't mind sharing the Powerball Jackpot using numbers relating to dates.
