That may be true. However, if you don't play, you can't win at all. Not spending $2 bucks on a PB ticket when you are getting 5 to 1 pot odds is insane.

1/13 drawing had 80% of the numbers covered. With RNGs I think someone could be manipulating the drawings. However, with MM and PB, you watch the balls bounce live. Not to say that someone couldn't tamper with the balls. However, those drawings are heavily monitored. The US Government wins every lottery jackpot.

I understand what you're saying. I don't understand why people are like animals and fight over something that 90% of them won't win.

Also from another discussion on this forum, what is the difference make what people do whether its annuity or cash option. If they take the payments as annuity then they need a will, lawyer, financial consultant and the acct.

No not really, they DECREASED the odds by adding balls not increased the odds. So of course it is going to be a lot harder. With more interest and the billion dollar hype even more people played, thus raising the jackpot even more and kept compounding from there both in plays and the jackpot amount. Nothing miraculous about it as 3 winners won, as finally most or all of the combinations wee bought. Also won by all who will be revealed eventually. Would have been more interesting if it went to $2... [ More ]

This is exactly what I've been saying. These drawings reeked to high hell. Some say what do the states have to gain for selling the winning tickets? How about kickbacks from the lottery. Not to mention the store that sells the ticket usually gets a bonus. This isn't rocket science here folks. People like to live in the dream world that the powerball is real, but are let down every single time. Wanna make some real money? Learn how to casino or go out and work for it. The big lotteries are a pipe... [ More ]

Not particularly surprising, no. On the next-to-last drawing, even with all those tickets sold, there was about a 1-in-5 chance of no winner. Not likely, but still quite possible. On the final drawing, a two-way split was the most likely outcome, and what actually happened was the second most likely.

This is just a fleeting thought.. but don't you find it interesting how this PB jackpot managed to grow with no winner for like 18 drawings, even though they raised the numbers by 10 which increased the odds dramatically?

Don't you think that is the the reason why there were no winners? If you increase the odds of winning, it becomes more difficult to win, no?

If they decreased the matrix by 10 numbers, then what you wrote would make sense.

This is just a fleeting thought.. but don't you find it interesting how this PB jackpot managed to grow with no winner for like 18 drawings, even though they raised the numbers by 10 which increased the odds dramatically? And when it reached a record $990 Million and a gazillion tickets were sold due to the craze.. still no winner? But, then miraculously when it reaches $1.5B for the next drawing there are suddenly 3 winners?

I am sorry but it sure has my curiosity up. Was it finally just du... [ More ]
