There are some people who won some money (nothing big) then use some of that winning money to buy tickets and win a large sum. You never know where that luck can rub off.

I always keep them. Haven't won anything on them but who knows. There are plenty of stories like the ones posted where mistakes turned out to be jackpots. I recall one in NY where the clerk gave this guy the wrong $20 ticket, turned out to be a 10K a week for life jackpot.

Yesterday, my brother told me about the guy in VA that printed a mistake ticket and won $7 mil...... and then this happened

My brother was going out and asked if I needed anything. I said that I won $4 and as long as he was going out, if he could get me a Powerball, NY Lotto and a take 5 ticket. Even exchange.

I am not a fan of keeping mistake tickets. But there is an interesting story on the Virginia lottery site. During the powerball frenzy, the clerk hit the key for a cash 4 life game by mistake and kept the ticket. And he won the jackpot.

Yes. I always keep mistakes and will also play what I wanted to play originally. Sometimes I will even ask if the clerk has mistake tickets.

I got given a Lotto ticket instead of a EuroMillions once and kept it anyway and just got another QP for the Euro draw... it was still a loser tho haha.

I am using these stories as examples. There are many others just like them.

1) Virginia grocery store employee Michael Donnelly wins $7million after accidentally selling a customer the wrong type of lottery ticket and buying it back himself

He generated a Cash4Life ticket instead of a Powerball entry The customer didn't want it so Donnelly bought it himself The ticket had all six Cash4Life winning numbers
