Really???

That big jackpot run was exactly what lottery commissions were praying for.

Reading the Texas lottery commission meeting minutes the other day, and I swear there were tears of joy.

It was fun watching and playing, but I'm ok with winning the starting jackpot also. One benefit is people are more focused on who won the big one.

1. When the powerball went past 1 billion something wasn't right.

2. The powerball needs to go back to the other format.

3. I honestly can't believe since i live in Philadelphia that people fight over these machines.

I too would love the 40M$ jackpot! A roll-over or a re-set is fine with me either way. 40M$ - 10M$ after taking the cash option, paying all my taxes, tithes and fees - I can live quite happily on 10M$. That would give me a matching living wage in retirement (with an annual cost of living adjustment), a new home, pay all my debts, buy new vehicles for dh me every 5 years, and pay for all the family's higher education costs (all going to state schools).

Yep one winner in Florida. I checked last night too and nothing showed up, this morning I looked on USAmega and saw the powerball was reset at $40 mil., then looked further to see one person won in Florida. I didnt buy a PB and will let it build a little, although the reset is way more than the reset of MM. I just picked up three mm lines from a win from Tuesday which is about all I ever win, not that I am complaining, a free ticket always helps. I would love to win the drawing tomorrow night fr... I had checked several times last nite to see if it had rolled over or not than forgot about it. This am I bought a PB ticket. I would have skipped it if I knew someone has won. Then again, there have been back to back winners before -- at least under the old system. Under the new matrix? No. I could live quite comfortably with the $40 mil jackpot, too.

p.s.: It was a single QP in the Keyes.
