$700 million is unlikely for PB, too, despite the $2 ticket price and steeper odds.

Still, until 7 weeks ago MM had the record for the biggest jackpot, and it reached that record with $1 tickets and 1 in 175 million odds. Applying that probability to the current odds an equivalent jackpot would be just a hair under $700 million for the cash value, or almost $1.1 billion for the annuity value.

Maybe you are right. Thats why you have to plunk $50 dollars down instead of $25!! We have to play more at lower odds! Otherwise they will panic and

We had a $656 MM JP. If it is random do the odds really matter? I read a lot of post on LP that say that 12345 +6 could come out five draws in a row because

each draw is independent of the last. If everybody is afraid to play birthday numbers because of the birthday number myth we can get to a least $750 million.

Nope I'd still play both MM and PB, if I was outside California I would add megaplier and powerplay. I love Cali but it's pari-mutual law is a joke.

I play both MM PB. One ticket each and every draw.

I expect to win and keep after the deduction and taxes about $65 million for MM and $32.6 million for PB. I am in California. I would then be a Happy Camper

I've switched to MM for now, it's cheaper to play the minimum/lower jackpots for Powerball suck anyway. $40-$50 million would do nothing for me lol

MM has odds of 1:258 000 000.

But I do agree that the lower ticket cost makes a 700M$ jackpot unlikely.

As for the billion dollar mark being reached again, for either PB or MM, isn't anything I am waiting for.

Any million(s) is more millions than I have now! My plans wouldn't change too much if I were to win $50M or $250M.

I'd rather see jackpots won more frequently and spread all that wealth around.

1st, odds of 1 in 175m vs 1 in 292m

meaning the chance of someone winning in ea draw is greater for mega than powerball. that should mean over a year there should be more mega winners

2nd the cost, $1 vs $2 to buy that chance is twice as expensive, so for ever 1 in 292. people can buy 2 chances in 175 million

3 im not so sure about this one, but ill say it anyhow, the pots build quicker becasue of the extra cash on powerball

I agree with you goose, play booth. For the same price of a PB ticket, with MM you get the megaplier which pays up to $5 million for second prize. Now in response to the original post, with the MM current matrix and one dollar bet, I'm not sure if well ever see a billion dollar JP.
