I play close enough sometimes in NJ P4, but it doesn't pay u every time. I don't why either, but when it does, it's worth it. I also like auto match option too.

close enough is when you one up or down of the number drawn. Example you play 524 and the number 614 comes in. This means you had two digits close enough which gives you $3

Is Close Enough the same as the Lucky Sum on your pick 3 and 4?

We have Sum It Up which is the same. I don't have much luck picking 3 so I got a QP just to try out the SIU and won $6 or $7 on the sum. Played it a few more times and won $47 with an any-way match plus the sum. Now I've played it another dozen times without even coming close to matching the Pick 3 or the SUI and I'm about ready to stop playing it.

We have it here in Jersey as well. To me it is just another play designed to squeeze more out of the player. For another 50 cents, if my number comes in straight which by the way has NEVER happened to me, I get half of what I would have the conventional way. I've played about twenty tickets to give it a try. I won back $6.50 Not a fan.
