They might not use tapes any more, they might store the video on-in a hard drive.

But either way the video might be kept from 1 day maybe up to 1 month, they can have only so many tapes and then they record new videos over the old ones, same if they record on the hard drive(s), the drive(s) have only so much space so old videos get deleted to make room for new-ones.

Expenses??

I have brought tickets for going on 5 years every week for 'my' club..

Gas to go to the store? I go BY the store on the way home from work. And I make one copy and ask someone at work to make the remaining copies.. And if I don't get the copies made I text or email them. Not really a huge deal.

As for the ticket question? Mine sit in my printer at home till the next draw ..

I'm not gonna lie, I've debated for a while before making any comment on this. Simply because it's an excellent question to which I have no answer and in responding to it, I'm probably giving it enough weight and credence for the universe to make sure it to happens to me.

TheMeatMan2000 answered correctly. Mostly toner and copy paper. I did not use the computer to send emails to each player. Plus the gas and time spent on the game. It did make that draw a memorable one.

Good question. I would ask lottery officials if they could not use video tape from the store and compare it to the time stamp on the ticket and the person who bought the ticket and the show the copy of the ticket. Other than that, dont think much more

What would be my next move? Beat the crap out of the ticket holder. LOL! Don't know why the lottery needs the original ticket ? A copy shows the numbers and the bar code, which can't be scammed because that info is held in the confidential computer system. Seems just an excuse for the state to further rape its citizens.

The holder of the original ticket cannot find it, he/ she has searched everywhere but has come up empty. Apologies have been flying left right but everyone is ticked off. The entire pool has copies of all the tickets purchased- but in order to claim the prize- the lottery insists on having the original ticket presented as verification of the win..copies won't do. What would be your options or next move?
